How To Take Screenshots On Chromebook

1. Using Keyboard Shortcuts

Follow the few steps provided below to capture a screenshot using the standard keyboard shortcuts.

  •  Press Shift + Ctrl key simultaneously, then press on Show Windows key on your keyboard.
  • In the case of newer versions of Chromebooks, at the bottom of the windows, a toolbar will pop up.
  • The left icon on the toolbar would help you to take captures of images to videos.
  • The right icon helps you take a full-screen capture for both still images and videos. You might also take a screenshot of just a specific area of your windows.
  • If you want to add audio to your screen recording, you can turn the mic on or off using the cog toggle on the toolbar.
  • You can also click on Ctrl + Show Windows to take an entire screen capture of your windows. A cross-hair arrow appears instead of the cursor. Hold and drag the mouse or touchpad and capture the desired area.

You can view the captured images in the Images folder. You may also view them in your Downloads folder.

  • As soon as you capture a screenshot, you will find a notification bar.
  • Click on the Copy to Clipboard icon on the notification bar that has appeared. You can also click on the Ctrl + C key as in Windows.
